IN PERSON RACE
The Whitin Five will be an in-person race unless the State of Massachusetts says that road races cannot be held for unforeseeable conditions.

Day before and race day registration fee goes up by $5 for runners. Online registration will close on Wednesday Nov. 27th at noon.
Tee Shirts
Please enter by October 30th to be guaranteed a long sleeve cotton tee shirt. Sizes are not guaranteed so come early to pick the size you want at bib pick up. Entries after October 30th are not guaranteed tee shirts.
Race Proceeds
This race will benefit the Whitin Community Center, Girls on the Run and Massachusetts Audubon Society.
Race Day Amenities
Whitin Five mugs will be given to the first 50 finishers and the first 10 women after the 50. There are hot showers, lockers and refreshments available in the Whitin Community Center post-race. There is free parking at the Whitin CC and on surrounding streets.
Course
The course is USATF certified, # MA07032JK. There are mile markers and a water stop halfway. The course is flat, rolling and fast. There is a video of the course on the Whitin Five website.

Other Information
The race will be held rain or shine! Blizzard date is December 1 at 8:10 AM. For race updates, especially concerning weather, go to the Whitin Five Facebook page. Walkers are not eligible for awards and must walk on the walking course. They may do multiple loops for a longer walk. For safety reasons, the police do not want walkers on the race course where there is more traffic. Registration is non-refundable. This is a traditional fun family event!

The plan is to make the awards available for pick up from the award's table soon after finishing so you can get home to your Thanksgiving activities instead of having a lengthy awards ceremony.

I know that running Whitin Five road race is a potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but no limited to: falls, physical contact with other participants, volunteers, race personnel, contract service providers, employees, and spectators including the potential the contraction of a communicable disease resulting from contact with other participants, volunteers, race personnel, contract service providers, employees, and spectators. I assume all risks including: the effects of the weather; high heat and/or humidity; freezing cold temperatures; traffic and the conditions of the road including surrounding terrain. I further agree to abide by the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommendations for the prevention of the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and other communicable diseases, and I attest to having read the CDC’s guidance at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html. I assume all such risks being known, appreciated, and accepted by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers/strollers, roller skates or inline skates, animals, and personal music players are not allowed in the race, and I will abide by all race rules.
